We understand the powerful impact of ministry that happens beyond the church walls. When congregations engage in God’s mission to serve, seek, and share the gospel, it transforms both the world and the local church.
It is our prayer that through every effort, the world will know that Jesus is greater than anything or anyone.
David came to faith in October 1985, and Dawn followed in February 1986. In March 1988, they were married, beginning a lifelong journey of loving God, loving one another, and allowing Him to lead their home.
God blessed them with two sons, Aaron and Jonathan, and two daughters by marriage, Emily and Caroline. They are also thankful for the joy of two grandsons — Thatcher Truth and Waylon Brave — who continue to remind them of God’s goodness and faithfulness.
In July 2000, David and Dawn answered God’s call to pastoral ministry, serving faithfully for more than 22 years at Sandy Plain Original Free Will Baptist Church. Their years in ministry deepened their love for the Church and their passion for helping others follow Jesus wholeheartedly.
For many years, we have participated in and introduced our congregation to short-term missions in Mexico, Brazil, and Africa. These experiences opened our eyes to the deep need for encouragement and partnership among those serving around the world.
In 2022, after returning from a mission trip to Africa, we could no longer deny God’s call into full-time missions. David resigned from the church he had pastored for more than 22 years.
Dawn resigned from her position where she had served for 17 years. With hearts surrendered and hands willing, Lesser Ministries was born — a ministry dedicated to walking beside pastors, missionaries, and churches as they serve Christ across the street and around the world.
